Our journey started with the sentence “I want to retire” from Andy in 2018 “and do what” said Angela, “faff about and fish” was his response. After Angela picked herself up off the floor in shock, she started thinking and the idea of moving to Scotland and creating a wellbeing retreat was born.

The Highlands has always been the place of peace and tranquility with a fair bit of fishing for Andy over the last 35 years. Andy’s ancestors were primarily of Blair Atholl origin with some of noble origin from Warwick and some interesting connections to William Shakespeare, and his later descendants spent most of their life in the Highlands. His father’s final resting place was the Gualin Estate and the River Dhionard. Angela’s ancestors are Irish and a bit more scary as they are thought to go as far back as far as a 5th Century Warlord ’ Niall of the Nine Hostages , not sure he would have embraced a Wellbeing Retreat!

The idea of building a Wellbeing Retreat was our passion and we wanted to create a space in the Highlands, which allowed us to share both the beautiful place and her skills and knowledge with others. Andy was completely onboard with it all and being surrounded by nature and fishing, with some of the most beautiful beaches close by, was all he needed and to retire!.

Angela’s specialist area for the last 20 years has been to help people to let go of the past and and be more present, as a mental health practitioner  with the EMDR UK. She is also a Clinical Hypnotherapist, Cognitive Behaviour Therapist and a Personal Coach certificated with WIEBGE to deal with the effects of narcissistic behaviours. She has also worked on some of the largest Transformational Change programmes in the UK as a Change Consultant. In particular she has a wealth of knowledge on narcissistic behaviours and the effect it can have on people in adulthood.

Founded in 2021, the retreat is a constantly evolving project in line with the vision. People are welcome to visit for just a few days either camping, glamping or in the beautiful cottage or join for one of the healing retreats.
