Well here in the far northwest we are finally turning the corner towards Spring. The drifts of snowdrops in the garden are flowering, Loch Aisir is free of ice and we can now see the sun setting over the Minch, late in the afternoon.
It’s been an unusually cold and snowy winter up here, the locals have commented on the rarity of frozen lochs and snow on the low ground. Our work on the shower block was halted in favour of some warmer inside work the stone barn during February 21 so we’ve now got a couple of big projects that need finishing as the weather improves.
No doubt in the coming weeks the bird life will be finding their singing voices and the daffodils will be flowering, so I’ll be keep an eye out for any interesting spring watch events.
