This weeks blog is about Communication and ties in nicely with our Throat chakra (Vishudda) in Yoga.
Every day we make choices about the people we meet and I thought I would test my theory on how easy we make choices a couple of years ago. As I started the talk to an audience of 100 people, I deliberately buttoned my jacket up wrongly. I knew a simple mistake of buttoning up a jacket wrongly could probably spilt the audience. There would be those in one corner sat silently thinking, “what a loser, calls herself a speaker, can’t even get dressed without a carer.
In the opposite corner I knew the ones that were with me, willingly me to notice it and change it and then relieved when I told them it was deliberate.
Of course we can’t forget those that I call the ‘Teenagers’ in the middle of both choices who would be thinking “what jacket, was it buttoned wrongly, why would I care!!”.
The point I made at the event was that we all make choices about people and situations, although we don’t voice them and sometimes they’re quite judgemental and other times they’re compassionate.
I would like you to experience making a choice right now with your communications ………
Imagine that your friend phones you and asks you something in confidence. She says “People have all been making fun of me and I’ve known you a while? will you be honest with me, am I bow legged”? Now you know in your heart that those knees have never been close friends, not even pen pals! Straight away you have to make a choice, compassionate or brutal honesty with your communication ? What’s your choice?
You see we all have choices in life, none of us are perfect, and we have to make fast choices if we want to speak our truth so if your skirt is tucked in your pants or your trouser flies are undone, you won’t die of it, embarrassment is transient, and you make a choice to stay in that negative state or move away from it and be honest with yourself.
We are all perfectly imperfect. People stare at each other because we are short, tall, thin, fat, white haired, ginger or just the fact we are breathing. No matter what we look like we are all different, which is what makes us unique.
It’s the choice we make whether we accept a negative opinion about ourselves and factor it into our lives that really matters – so celebrate being positive, being a great communicator and authentic, quirks and all.
So B Positive is more than just a blood group it’s a real choice in life, so always be true to yourself. Why not try a little Throat Chakra Yoga to give you a great start, click the link here
